- Flour 1/2 cup
- Butter 125 grams
- Eggs (lightly beaten) 2
- Cocoa Powder 3/4 cup
- Sugar (ground) 1 cup
- Milk 1 cup
- Vanilla tsp
- Baking soda 1 tsp
- Butter to lightly grease pan
- Flour to lightly flour pan
- Grease and flour an 8” pan and preheat oven to 180 degrees/ 350F.
- In a bowl mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder and soda bicarbonate.
- Add butter, milk, vanilla essence and eggs.
- Beat by hand or beater until well blended and creamy (about 1-2 minutes).
- Pour into pan and place in oven to bake for about 20-25 minutes until toothpick shows no crumbs when inserted in the middle of the cake.
- Invert onto plate and serve immediately or cool and put icing on top as garnishing.
